A Luxury Villa – My Dream Home
I don’t necessarily agree with most things that are described as ‘luxury’. People tend to link anything that’s expensive with the term luxury. In fact, I saw an advertisement for a McDonald’s luxury nuggets the other day which proves my point. Just last week me and a few friends were speaking about luxury villas. People’s views on what luxury is varies quite a lot between people. I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in some of the best exclusive villas in the world. I think I’m therefore in a fairly good position to be able to consider what makes a villa luxurious. Unquestionably, each room in a luxury villa should have air con. This can be the difference between a good and bad holiday in some hot countries. Air conditioning can give you that much needed breathing space after a long hot day of travelling. A private pool is also essential. Private pools should come with every private villa. Few people want to book a luxury villa and then have to go and share a resort pool. A fully fitted kitchen should come as standard. With the option of having a private chef because nobody wants to cook on holiday. There should also be an array of gadgets and gizmos to keep you entertained whilst you’re inside. This should mean at least there is a TV and Blu Ray player. I’ve even been on some Greece villa holidays where I’ve had each current video game console in the lounge. Privacy is also high on a luxury villa wish list. From my experience, some of the most luxurious villas that retain privacy are in the south of France. There are some great hotels in Corsica and villas tucked away in the mountainside. So there are my thoughts. Writing about it just makes me want to go on a holiday so much more.
